NJIT Pre-College Program: for high school students interested in the various areas of STEM. Runs July 6-August 6, Monday - Thursday. www.njit.edu/precollege

William Paterson University: offers college credit courses for high school students. Runs July 13-July 31. www.wpunj.edu/cpe

New York Institute of Technology: workshops are held at the Manhattan & Old Westbury campuses. Explore architecture, technology, engineering, graphic design, filmmaking, & the medical field. Learn more at www.nyit.edu/nycsummer.

Columbia University: offers programs in NYC, Barcelona, Jordan & Beijing for high school students. Choose from a wide variety of course offerings. www.columbia.edu

Centenary Summer Scholars: for rising 8th-12th grade students with various course offerings, such as computer programming, fashion design, forensic science, psychology, veterinary science & television. Programs run one week in July with three different sessions. www.centenarysummerscholars.org

Caldwell University: summer college is a program for high school seniors that provide the opportunity to earn three college credits while studying science, math & medicine. Space is limited so apply at caldwell.edu/scac

George Washington University: runs both 3-week & 6-week sessions in July, for credit or non-credit courses. Choose from various subject areas, explore cultural Washington, D.C. and gain valuable insight into college level curriculum. Application deadline is May 15. www.precollege.gwu.edu

University of Maryland: Young Scholars Program runs from July 12-31. Offers a selection of rigorous courses taught by the University's award-winning faculty. www.ysp.umd.edu

Pratt Institute: for any high school sophomore or junior interested in art, design, fashion, film, photography or architecture. The program runs July 6-31. The precollege program immerses students in the studio & helps in preparation of a portfolio for the college application process. www.pratt.edu

Tufts University: runs June 30-August 7, offering courses in Writing, Foundations of Law & Ethics, Health Science, Bioinformatices Inquiry & College Courses for Seniors. www.go.tufts.edu/summer

Scholarships
Kohl's Care Scholarship recognizes youth ages 6-18 who run through volunteerism & have a positive impact on their community. Scholarship awards must be used toward college expenses.

Spirit of a Hero Scholarship is awarding a $5,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who has worked to improve the lives of NJ residents through non-profit organizations. New Release of Records Form
The SHS Guidance Department has updated its Release of Records form, which allows students to obtain official and unofficial documents such as transcripts, testing data or other documents for post-secondary education or employment. Please click here to download a copy of the form. Upon completion, email the form to guidance@sboe.us and your form will be processed. Unofficial transcripts will be given directly to the student or parent. Official transcripts will be emailed to the institution or institutions as listed on the form. The form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free download. Click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader for your computer.
